CYB 238S Computer Forensics Essentials

Fundamentals course dealing with the proper preservation, identification, extraction, documentation, and interpretation of computer data as it relates to possible criminal evidence. Includes proper evidence handling; chain of custody; collection, preservation, and identification procedures; and recovery of computer data using approved forensics recovery software and methods. Criminal record background check required. Prerequisite: CIS 211S , CIS 214S , and CIS 215S or equivalent. Lab Fee: $148 (Additional fees will apply for flex and webflex sections.)
