Basic Mechanical Short-Term Technical Certificate

The Basic Mechanical Short-Term Technical Certificate provides students with the skills to enter a new job field or advance in their current one. Topics including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gears, belts and pulleys, chains and sprockets, couplings, clutches and brakes are examined. Preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, lubrication and safe rigging practices are also discussed. Short-Term Technical Certificates consist of three to seven courses that can be completed in a year or less. To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must complete the required courses with a “C” or better and submit an application for certificate.
NOTE  Federal Financial Aid is not available for Short-Term Technical Certificate programs, but scholarship assistance may be available.
NOTE  Students pursuing a Short-Term Technical Certificate may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing.
