Family Financial Planning Short-Term Technical Certificate

Transfer Agreements  

The Family Financial Planning Short-Term Technical Certificate is designed to increase family awareness and understanding of managing finances responsibly. Participants learn about budgeting, financial planning, establishing and using credit, preventing identity theft, and using loan options. The ultimate goal of the program is to help families take the necessary steps toward financial stability.
NOTE  Federal Financial Aid is not available for Short-Term Technical Certificate programs, but scholarship assistance may be available.
NOTE  Students pursuing a Short-Term Technical Certificate may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing. 


Program Outcomes ►
The student will

  1. demonstrate basic skills in written and oral communication;
  2. use basic interpersonal skills and interact in team environments;
  3. demonstrate an introductory understanding of global world/economic/business issues;
  4. recognize the value of good ethical standards and their application to business and banking;
  5. recognize basic cultural differences and respect differing points of view in the business environment;
  6. demonstrate basic proficiency with business technology for both research and communication of financial planning fundamentals and information;
  7. identify the basic components of the external environment of a business and explain how the environmental influences change, with a focus on financial planning implications; and
  8. demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles of the financial planning industry and introductory financial concepts.
