Graphic Design students will utilize their creative abilities to design, create and edit digital content using various software. From editing graphics, dealing with page layouts, producing videos and developing animations to designing for the web, this program features a comprehensive study of all things graphic design. Students will develop a portfolio and compile it with works from numerous courses within the program.♦

Hardware/Software Requirements ►
Students taking courses in this program may need to own or have access to specialty hardware/software to pursue this degree option. This requirement is particularly important for students enrolled in online/distance learning sections of particular courses. Affected courses indicate this requirement in their course syllabus. Consult the program advisor to discuss specific course needs and options.

Program Outcomes ►
The student will

  1. apply positive ethical standards across various situations and industries;
  2. use effective interpersonal skills to discuss important industry-specific concepts and to interact in diverse team environments;
  3. communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders through written, oral, and digital means to convey industry-related information;
  4. employ various interactive media to create engaging and cohesive digital content that effectively communicates and enhances brand presence across mutiple platforms;
  5. develop, discuss, and curate an electronic portfolio;
  6. describe the formal elements of design and utilize effective design practices to layout, organize, and communicate information;
  7. use appropriate software to design, create, and edit compositions for various media; and
  8. critique their work and the works of others in constructive and meaningful ways.
