	    Basic Human Relations Short-Term Technical Certificate

				The Basic Human Relations Short-Term Technical Certificate provides students with the skills to enter a new job field or advance in their current one. Short-Term Technical Certificates consist of three to seven courses that can be completed in a year or less. To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must complete the required courses with a cumulative GPA of “C” or better and complete an application for certificate. 
NOTE  Federal Financial Aid is not available for Short-Term Technical Certificate programs, but scholarship assistance may be available. 
NOTE  Students pursuing a Short-Term Technical Certificate may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing.   
Program Outcomes ► 
The student will 
	- evaluate the basic functions of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling that supervisors, team leaders, or facilitators perform in all organizations;
 
	- evaluate the way the first line of management shares responsibilities through employee empowerment;
 
	- apply interpersonal skills using practical applications for the development of a positive work environment which includes communications, motivation, managing change, solving problems, employee development, and team development; and
 
	- understand the psychology and techniques of negotiations in a variety of situations and applying them in exercises and cases to provide a professional resolution of opposing positions to reach a “win-win” model.
