Quality Management Short-Term Technical Certificate

The Quality Management Short-Term Technical Certificate provides students with the skills to enter a new job field or advance in their current one. Short-Term Technical Certificates consist of three to seven courses that can be completed in a year or less. To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must complete required courses with a cumulative GPA of “C” or better and complete an application for certificate.
NOTE Federal Financial Aid is not available for Short-Term Technical Certificate programs, but scholarship assistance may be available.
NOTE Students pursuing a Short-Term Technical Certificate may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing.
Program Outcomes ►
The student will
- evaluate what managers do about processes, and the tools that managers can use to make better operating decisions;
- understand the philosophy of total quality management. Focusing on improving processes and reducing variation in systems. Evaluate the role of employees through empowerment in improving all aspects of manufacturing and service organizations to achieve quality improvement and customer satisfaction; and
- Apply the proper use of engineering measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, scales, height gauges, gauge blocks, surface plates, comparators and coordinate measuring machine.
