Human Resource Management Certificate

The Human Resource Management Certificate provides students knowledge needed to work in a human resources capacity. This program prepares students for a variety of positions within a human resources environment and is good preparation for those who wish to sit for one of the highly respected national SHRM certification exams. Students in this program can join the Edison State chapter of the Society of Business and Human Resource Management, an active student organization. Course work in this program articulates into the Associate of Applied Business degree in Human Resource Management.
Program Outcomes ►
The student will
- identify and address ethical issues and considerations in Human Resources;
- perform basic HR functions, i.e. develop and implement employee policies, manage employee relations, understand legal compliance, administer employee benefits, and foster a positive work culture;
- create and deliver quality employee training and development;
- apply accounting principles to prepare and maintain compensation and benefits;
- demonstrate skills in written and oral communication;
- identify and analyze human resource concerns that affect business decisions; and
- demonstrate knowledge of legal issues related to human resource management.
