Tax Consultant Short-Term Technical Certificate

Transfer Agreements  

The Tax Consultant Short-Term Technical Certificate provides students with the skills to enter a new job field or advance in their current one. Short-Term Technical Certificates consist of three to seven courses that can be completed in a year or less. To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must complete the required courses with a cumulative GPA of “C” or better and complete an application for certificate.
NOTE  Federal Financial Aid is not available for Short-Term Technical Certificate programs, but scholarship assistance may be available.
NOTE  Students pursuing a Short-Term Technical Certificate may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing.  


Program Outcomes ►
The student will

  1. demonstrate basic skills in written and oral communication;
  2. use basic interpersonal skills and interact in team environments;
  3. demonstrate an introductory understanding of global world/economic/business issues;
  4. recognize the value of good ethical standards and their application to business, accounting, and tax accounting;
  5. recognize basic cultural differences and respect differing points of view in the business environment;
  6. demonstrate basic proficiency with business technology for both research and communication of accounting and tax-related information;
  7. identify the basic components of the external environment of a business and explain how these elements influence fundamental change; and
  8. apply the foundational principles of financial accounting and tax accounting.
