Child Development Associate Short-Term Technical Certificate

The Child Development Associate (CDA) Short-Term Technical Certificate credential is geared toward improving the quality of care given in center-based and home settings while, as well as giving support and professional recognition to childcare providers. Requirements include 120 hours of training/professional development plus 480 hours of work with young children within the last five years.
The CDA candidate must apply directly to the Council for Professional Recognition to receive the CDA credential. There is a non-refundable application fee associated with the application to the Council. Each student must provide his/her own COA advisor to complete the program. NOTE Federal Financial Aid is not available for Short-Term Technical Certificate programs.
NOTE Students pursuing a Short-Term Technical Certificate may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing.
