PAR 220S Paramedic II13.00 credit hours
The Paramedic certification course provides information covering emergency and pre-hospital medical care that may be encountered at the scene of accidents and serious illnesses. The course includes competencies demonstrating the role of the paramedic in cardiac emergencies, EKG interpretation with both 4 and 12-lead machines, Mega codes and ACLS certification as well as recognition of AAA and embolisms, OB/GYN emergencies, neonatal resuscitation, pediatric emergencies, and recognition and treatment of all types of shock, blunt and penetrating trauma, burn injuries, soft tissue injuries, fractures and dislocations, and splinting. Recognition of all types of heat and cold emergencies, bites, stings, and envenomations as well as marine and water emergencies. Prerequisite: PAR 120S . Lab Fee: $250 FALL | SPRING
