NUR 210S Role of Nurse in Clinical Applications I6.00 credit hours
For the Licensed Practical Nurse transitioning into the Associate Degree Nursing program and focuses on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to practice evidence-based, patient-centered nursing. Competency areas include focused assessment of human needs and focused physical assessment of patients with medical-surgical and mental-health changes. Demonstration of the ability to solve problems through the use of the nursing process with a focus on client assessment and effective communication will be covered. Focus areas include developing and understanding teamwork and collaboration, quality improvement, safety, and informatics when changing one’s role and responsibility from practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse to practice as a Registered Nurse. Prerequisite: Departmental acceptance into the nursing program. Lab Fee: $236 (Additional fees will apply for online, flex and webflex sections.) SPRING | FALL
