Transfer Agreements  

The RN-BSN program focuses on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to practice evidence-based, client-centered nursing. It consists of seven nursing courses along with general and technical electives that span four semesters. All coursework will be completed online with at least a once a semester  residency day. It will include a practicum in the final nursing courses with an approved preceptor in a clincial setting selected by the student. Continuation in and graduation from the nursing program is contingent upon the student earning a minimum grade of “C” in nursing courses and maintaining an overall minimum G.P.A. of 2.0.

Nursing Program Applicants ►
In addition to complying with the College’s general admission procedures, RN-BSN applicants
must meet with the Nursing advisor to review admission requirements and application process and receive a passcode to access the online application;
must submit an RN-BSN Program application. (See below.) Applications are being accepted May 15, 2024, through August 11, 2024, for admission to the 2024FS cohort;
must submit an active, unencumbered Ohio or multi-state RN license; and
depending upon the clinical site requirements, may be required to complete a background check, complete a drug screen, and/or provide documentation of health requirements.

Criteria for selection of applicants to be admitted to the program include a combination of ►
official high school transcript with graduation date postmarked by the application deadline;
college work with an overall weighted GPA of 2.5 or higher. Students whose cumulative GPA is below 2.5 may be considered for recent academic improvement. To be considered for recent academic improvement, a student must have a minimum of 6.00 semester credit hours in general education courses that are applicable to the RN-BSN program with a GPA of 3.0 or better. This work needs to be completed after having graduated from an RN program and within the past five years. Transcripts must be official and postmarked or sent electronically by the application deadline;
successful completion from a regionally accredited associate degree nursing program;
successful completion from an ACEN or CCNE accredited associate degree nursing program; and
active, unencumbered Ohio or multi-state RN license.

The selection committee will review all nursing applications and select applicants. Applications containing incomplete or inaccurate information will not be considered for selection. Applications will be time stamped when they are submitted and students will be admitted based on the time all of their requirements are submitted and verified. Applicants will be notified by email of acceptance decision within one (1) month from application.

Program Outcomes ►
The student will

  1. justify the importance of professional nursing in relation to the nurses’ scope of practice including the characteristics of accountability, leadership, and spirit of inquiry;
  2. support nursing practices with clinical judgment that demonstrate emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion of person-centered care;
  3. integrate research and current evidence-based practices into nursing judgment to foster advancement in information literacy;
  4. combine standards of practice, effective communication, delegation, and collaboration skills to further improve partnerships across all healthcare disciplines; and
  5. evaluate the impact of technology used to provide safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
