Medical Scribe Short-Term Technical Certificate

The Medical Scribe Short-Term Technical Certificate prepares students for employment in ambulatory healthcare settings, such as a physician’s office and various healthcare facilities where they aid the physician with medical documentation. The primary goal of the Medical Scribe is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the healthcare team. Medical Scribes have become a vital part of the healthcare team with the implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR).
NOTE Federal Financial Aid is not available for Short-Term Technical Certificate programs, but scholarship assistance may be available.
NOTE Students pursuing a Short-Term Technical Certificate may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing.
Program Outcomes ►
The student will
►demonstrate professionalism in regards to ethical and responsible behavior;
►demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with patients, physicians and co-workers;
►demonstrate competent written and medical terminology skills;
►utilize the basic concepts of medical billing and coding;
►demonstrate skills in medical documentation; and
