The Computer-Aided Drafting and Design/Computer-Aided Engineering Certificate is a perfect fit for students who are technically-competent, mechanically-inclined and visually-oriented. From rough freehand sketches to computer-generated models and finished drawings, courses cover all phases of hands-on two- and three-dimensional mechanical design. This certificate will prepare students to work as drafters and designers, ready to create parts and assemblies for the manufacturing and engineering fields. In addition to learning how to document design specifications and recognize various symbols used in the field, students will supplement their working knowledge of mechanical drafting by taking courses in manufacturing processes, mathematics and technical writing.
