Transfer Agreements  

The Systems Administration option is a two-year program incorporating numerous industry-related certifications. Students who complete this degree are qualified to install, configure, manage, troubleshoot, and support IT systems, whether on-premise or in the cloud. A wide-breadth of knowledge in areas such as cybersecurity, database management, disaster recovery planning, IT governance, Linux administration, networking, and programming are also included.♦

Program Outcomes ►
The student will 

  1. integrate Edison State core values into every aspect of the program;
  2. incorporate Edison State general education outcomes into every aspect of the program;                                    
  3. evaluate and analyze problems and apply the tools of logical problem solving;        
  4. demonstrate basic computer skills in areas such as applications, operating systems and programming;          
  5. support new technology and demonstrate sufficient knowledge to adapt to this technology;
  6. recognize and understand data communication and its relationship to solve business related technological problems and issues;
  7. apply programming, database, operating systems, virtual machine concepts, security and business application skills to troubleshoot and solve information technology problems specific to degree option; and            
  8. demonstrate ability to research, select, use and troubleshoot hardware, software and network connections appropriate to degree option. 


Certifications ►
Students who pass certification exams and submit verification can receive college credit as follows.
Students with A+ certification may apply for credit for IT Essentials .
Students with Network+ certification may apply for credit for Networking Essentials .
Students with Security+ certification may apply for credit for Computer Security Essentials .
Students with CCNA certification may apply for credit for the following courses:  CYB 246S Introduction to Networks , CYB 247S Switching and Routing , and CYB 248S Security and Automation .
NOTE  CYB 246S, CYB 247S, and CYB 248S help prepare students for the CCNA exam.
