Career Outlook  

Transfer Agreements

The Operations Technology program provides students with knowledge of the fundamentals of operations management, industrial health and safety, quality management systems, supervision, human relations and problem solving. Advanced courses in management, manufacturing automation, manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma prepare students for the latest in operations and quality programs. The program culminates in a project in which students demonstrate the totality of their knowledge of industrial technology operations.

Some possible careers include ►
manufacturing engineering technicians, quality technicians and industrial supervisors at local manufacturing facilities

Program Outcomes ►
The student will
demonstrate a basic knowledge of industrial operations;
explain the fundamentals of logistics operations;
demonstrate basic knowledge of supply chain management;
explain the uses and effectiveness of the various quality systems;
apply problem solving tools to logistics problems;
explain how human relations in the workplace are essential for continuous improvement;
develop an ethical model of conduct for workplace relationships;
explain cost considerations inherent in logistics operations;
demonstrate effective written and oral communications skills; and
apply effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
