Clinical Laboratory Assistant Certificate

The Clinical Laboratory Assistant Certificate is pending approval by the DOE, ODHE and HLC.
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant program is a two-semester certificate designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in clinical laboratory settings under the supervision of a physician, laboratory scientist or technologist. Clinical laboratory assistants perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, quality control, reagent preparation and waived testing. The program includes instruction in phlebotomy, computer skills, specimen processing, reagent preparation as well as basic laboratory techniques, health care ethics, safety and regulations.  NOTE  Criminal background check, drug screening and health requirements must be met. Students must be 18 years of age. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 to remain in the program.
