Introduction to writing and rhetoric. Incorporates close reading and critical analysis of texts for rhetorical awareness. Writing assignments emphasize multiple genres, including reporting information, narration, analysis, and research. Includes supported study of writing, reading, and grammar skills through discussion and in-class writing. Prerequisite: Satisfactory placement assessment reading scores.
