NUR 135S Health Promotion of the Adult 8.00 credit hours
Focuses on the fundamental knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for the practice of evidence-based patient-centered nursing. Competency areas include beginning skills in basic assessment of human needs, basic physical assessment, and introduction of concepts related to teamwork and collaboration. Quality improvement, safety and informatics are also covered. Clinical opportunities focus on the development of fundamental nursing skills for the care of the adult and geriatric populations in various settings. Prerequisite: Department acceptance into the nursing program. Prerequisite or Co-requisite: BIO 125S and CHM 111S with a grade of C or better, and ALH 151S .
