The Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is aimed at improving the quality of care given in center-based and home settings while, at the same time, giving support and professional recognition to childcare providers. Requirements include 120 hours of training/professional development plus 480 hours of work with young children within the last five years.
The CDA candidate must apply directly to the Council for early Childhood Professional recognition in Washington, D.C., to receive the credential. There is a fee paid to the Council. Each student must provide his/her own COA advisor to complete the program. Contact the ECE Department at (937) 778-7917 for more detailed information regarding CDA.
NOTE:Federal Financial Aid is not available for Fast Track programs. NOTE: Students pursuing Fast Track certificates may need to satisfy course prerequisites which may include placement testing.
