Industrial Management, Operations Technology Option, A.A.S.

Students who choose the Operations Technology option learn the fundamentals of operations management, industrial health and safety, quality management systems, supervision, human relations, and problem solving.  Advanced courses in management, manufacturing automation, manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma provide the student with the latest in operations and quality programs.  This program option culminates in a project during which the students demonstrate their breadth of industrial technology operations.  Graduates of this program can function as manufacturing engineering technicians, quality technicians, or industrial supervisors at local manufacturing facilities.

Program Outcomes

The student will:

  1. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of industrial operations;
  2. Explain the fundamentals of logistics operations;
  3. Demonstrate basic knowledge of supply chain management;
  4. Explain the uses and effectiveness of the various quality systems;
  5. Apply problem solving tools to logistics problems;
  6. Explain how human relations in the workplace are essential for continuous improvement ;
  7. Develop an ethical model of conduct for workplace relationships;
  8. Explain cost considerations inherent in logistics operations;
  9. Demonstrate effective written and oral communications skills;
  10. Apply effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
