Business Management, Marketing Option, A.A.B.

The Marketing option provides the skills and knowledge needed to enter and advance in the marketing profession, or transfer to a bachelor's degree program in Marketing

Student learning will focus upon both the theory and practice of Marketing as applied to consumer and business markets.  The Marketing option includes 36 credit hours that will transfer to a bachelor's degree in business.  It is recommended that students who intend to transfer work closely with an advisor.  Some colleges accept additional courses for transfer or prefer the Business Transfer Associate of Science  degree.

Program Outcomes

The student will:

  1. Demonstrate skills in oral and written communication;
  2. Recognize the value of good ethical standards and their application to business;
  3. Recognize the culturally diverse workplace and the need to respect varying points of view;
  4. Analyze business case studies and provide recommendations for problem solving and implementation;
  5. Use good interpersonal skills and interact in a team environment by being open-minded to input from others;
  6. Identify the American business system, how it is organized, and how the external environment influences change;
  7. Apply the management principles and concepts necessary for effective, efficient business practices;
  8. Apply the principles of accounting, finance, marketing, and economics to evaluate fiscal decision making;
  9. Demonstrate the skills of applying and interpreting international, federal, state and local laws on business operations;
  10. Recognize the dynamics in the business community and be open to accepting new concepts and technologies;
  11. Demonstrate the ability to use computer software to facilitate manipulation of data and to use the Internet to retrieve information.


Fourth Semester--16 credit hours

Total Credit Hours: 64

1Students may choose between PSY 121S  or SOC 121S .

2Marketing electives will include MKT 112S , MKT 231S , NET 101S , or MKT 291L  and MKT 291R .

3Refer to AAB general education requirements .

This program is designed for students who have completed all prerequisites and have met all college preparatory requirements in math, English, and basic computer skills.
