Edison offers a Microsoft Academic Training Program to prepare students for Microsoft Certification Exams. Courses are offered in an asynchronous online format.

Advantages of Edison’s program:

  1. Students receive more hours of instruction than non-academic institutions.
  2. College courses are available to provide the necessary background in hardware, operating systems and networking.
  3. Edison courses contribute credit toward an associate degree recognized by the Ohio Board of Regents.
  4. Edison courses transfer to other colleges such as University of Cincinnati, Miami University, Tiffin University, and Franklin University.

Recommended preparation for the Microsoft series: CIT 211S , CIT 214S , and CIT 215S .

Microsoft DreamSpark is an annual membership program for departments that teach and utilize technology such as Computer Science, Engineering, and Information Systems departments. The membership provides a complete, inexpensive solution to keep academic labs, faculty and students on the leading edge of technology. What does this mean for Edison's CIT students? It means you get to download Microsoft software products, for academic purposes only, for free or nearly free. Software distribution to students occurs through the e-academy License Management System (ELMS). Ask your CIT instructor about Microsoft DreamSpark.
