Technically-competent. Mechanically-inclined. Visually-oriented. These are words often used to describe students in the Computer-Aided Drafting and Design/Computer-Aided Engineering certificate option. From rough freehand sketches to computer-generated models and finished drawings, hands-on courses cover all phases of two- and three-dimensional mechanical design. Students will be prepared as drafters and designers, ready to create parts and assemblies for the manufacturing and engineering fields. In addition to learning how to document design specifications and recognize various symbols used in the field, students will supplement their working knowledge of mechanical drafting by taking courses in manufacturing processes, mathematics and technical writing.
