Industrial Management, Supply Chain Management Option, A.A.S.

The Supply Chain Management option is a recent revision of the original Logistics option. Introductory courses in this option offer students the fundamentals of supply chain and transportation management, warehousing, distribution, operations management, supervision and human resources, human relations, and customer service. Advanced topics include international logistics and supply chain security, inventory management, lean systems, purchasing, manufacturing costs and controls, and negotiation techniques. This program option culminates in a project during which the students demonstrate their breadth of logistics operations and supply chain management knowledge.

Program Outcomes

The student will:

  1. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of industrial operations;
  2. Explain the fundamentals of logistics operations;
  3. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of supply chain management;
  4. Explain the uses and effectiveness of the various quality systems;
  5. Apply problem solving tools to logistics problems;
  6. Explain how human relations in the workplace are essential for continuous improvement;
  7. Develop an ethical model of conduct for workplace relationships;
  8. Explain cost considerations inherent in logistics operations;
  9. Demonstrate effective written and oral communications skills;
  10. Apply effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
