EGR 276S Solar Energy Systems I

3.00 credit hours

Source and theory of solar energy and its applications. Topics include the study of the behavior of photovoltaic and thermal solar energy systems and their components. Students will perform and understand a conceptual design of a stand-alone system for any global location. Study includes estimation of costs and benefits, taking into account any available subsidies. Introduction to the hardware elements and their behavior will be proven with practical hands-on experiments. Prerequisite: Satisfactory math assessment score or a grade of 'C' or better in MTH 098D . Prerequisite or Co-requisite: EGR 270S . Lab Fee: $50
