EGR 272S Wind Energy Systems I

3.00 credit hours

Overview of wind power systems and the energy that can be harnessed from this renewable source. History of wind power and origin of wind are discussed. Technology utilized to capture the wind and details of turbine types and designs are researched. Practical details of components and installation of residential and commercial wind turbines are covered. Introduction to the hardware elements and their behavior will be proven with practical hands-on experiments. Prerequisite: Satisfactory math assessment score or a grade of 'C' or better in MTH 098D . Prerequisite or Co-requisite: EGR 270S . Lab Fee: $50
