MTH 126S Mathematical Foundations I

3.00 credit hours

First of a two course sequence designed for elementary education majors. Topics covered include origin of numbers and systems of numeration; systems of whole numbers, integers, and rational numbers; and sets and logic. For education majors, it is recommended that CHM 245S  be taken the same semester as MTH 126S. Prerequisite: Satisfactory math assessment score and three years of college preparatory mathematics or a grade of 'C' or better in MTH 099D .
