ART 222S History of Graphic Design

3.00 credit hours

Historical development of graphic design. Includes illustration and the sequential arts. Examines graphic design as a component of society, culture and general history. Presents overview of the first illustrators and designers (from cave art to illuminated manuscripts). Explores timeline of movable type to digital age. Supplements lecture, theory, and audiovisual with relevant creative projects. Prerequisite: ART 123S  or ART 124S . Lab Fee: $10
