The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees have two additional requirement categories ►

Electives ♦ May be chosen by the student from courses relevant to the student's concentration area (major)

The Associate of Applied Business, Associate of Applied Science and Associate of Technical Study have two additional requirement categories ►

Technical Requirements and Electives

Refer to the specific degree options for the recommended courses to satisfy these requirements.

For example ►
For the Associate of Applied Business, Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Technical Study degree, three semester hours are required from category 3. Social and Behavioral Sciences. Many of these degrees specify a recommended course, but some offer the student the option of choosing from the courses listed below the category heading. For the Associate of Arts degree, 12 semester hours (four courses) are required from the 3. Social and Behavioral Sciences category, and must be chosen from at least two disciplines (for instance, Economics and Psychology). For the Associate of Science degree, nine semester hours (three courses) are required from the 3. Social and Behavioral Sciences category, and again from at least two disciplines.
